Free In-Home Wi-Fi – Internet Access for the Connected Traveler

I made a special trip up to Disney Holiday Townhome (DHT) to install a broadband cable modem and wireless router. Even though our resort community has a nice Internet cafe, many people (including myself) like to bring their own laptops. While my family relaxes after a long day at the parks, I can check my e-mail, check on inquiries for DHT rentals, and plan our next day – all on-line and in the comfort of our townhome. I’m no longer at the mercy of our resort community’s hours for the front office.
While some of the larger hotels are still (amazingly!) charging for Wi-Fi, or even cabled Internet access, the smaller hotels and vacation rentals are providing it free of charge. Currently, I would say that less than 50% of the vacation rentals in the Kissimmee area provide this amenity. I’m not big on the, “Me, too!” mindset. However, I didn’t want to be missing a valuable service for my guests, so I took the plunge. I’m glad I did, because many of my future guests have mentioned that they will be bringing laptops!
So, if you’re planning a business trip in the Kissimmee area, or simply need to be “connected” while on vacation, come stay at DHT — and bring your laptops!
