Minor Attractions Vol 2 – Miniature Golf

Posted by disneyholidaytownhome on August 11, 2007

Call me crazy, but I’m not afraid to admit that I like miniature golf. I liked it as a kid. Heck, I even liked it while I was a teenager and while I was in college! And, now that I have kids, I’m trying to get them to like it as well. As luck would have it, there are 3 miniature golf courses within about 2 miles of Disney Holiday Townhome (DHT). We’ve only been to one, but our goal is to hit all three very soon!

Pirate’s Island

This is the course we’ve tried. There are two 18-hole courses. The courses are a challenge, but nearly every hole has the possibility of a hole in one, which I like. You even get a bit of pirate history along the way! You get a free game if there is at least one hole-in-one in your party. The kids get to play for free if you bring your score card back. Pirate’s Island is just over 2 miles east/south on US 192, and is just past the Super WalMart on the right side. Prices seemed a little high at $10/adult and $9/child, but that might just be me being old. I get the impression that most mini-golf courses in the Kissimmee/Orlando area charge this much.

River Adventure Golf

This is just west/north of Pirate’s Island, on the left (north) side of US 192. I don’t know much more about this course, unfortunately. Give me a couple more visits to DHT, and I’m sure I’ll have more to write here.

Congo River Golf & Exploration

This is our “local” miniature golf course. It is under 1 mile from DHT, and under a 1/2 mile west of Seven Dwarfs Lane on US 192 (north side). Congo River appears to have two 18-hole courses. The place always seems to be busy! Look for more here once we actually make a visit.

Next Up…

I’ll review 2 pubs! (Well, they are at EPCOT, but I’m counting them!)
